halfway

July is almost over and I feel like I've accomplished absolutely nothing this summer so far. It's not even that I want to do something meaningful, but I feel like I haven't made this summer the best it could be. All I do is sleep, spend time with Jeff, and then go to work.

I want a vacation from this vacation. But it's not looking very likely...

There's a month before I start college! Yikes.

a love for all things pink

Alexander Wang is one of my favorite designers. I'm especially loving his handbags at the moment - the Brenda Zip Chain Bag in particular. And I just discovered in came in this pretty shade of pink!!

[Retails at $725]

It's so cute.

shoe porn

I was uber-bored at work, so I was looking up all kinds of shoes. Some favorites of mine from the popular blog Jak & Jil:

[studded Balenciagas - to die for]

[hot pink Christian Louboutins]

[Jil Sanders with a little edge]

[And of course, the YSL Tributes...]

I need to stop drooling.

smile

Two years ago, my sister, her friend, and I decided to make these DIY smiley shirts inspired by the one found in Luella's Spring 2007 RTW collection. We bought some plain white tees from Target and black acrylic paint and did it ourselves. It's kind of silly, but we all wore them when we went to New York City with our school for a biannual music festival.

[Smile, Natasha Poly!]

I found the shirt again yesterday and realized I have never worn it out other than that one time. So I decided to wear it today. It's very comfortable.

[DIY!]

I also wore my awesome Nine West gladiator wedges today. I love them but they're not the most comfortable shoes. But I did buy those cushions from Target and I don't do much walking when I'm at work. So why not?

Note to self: make an appointment for a haircut & do my nails! The chips are beginning to bug me greatly.

here comes the bride

Two dresses from the Haute Couture collections that would make beautiful (and over-the-top) wedding dresses:

[Christian Dior]

[Chanel]

Not exactly my style (or price range!) but a girl can dream, right? I'm not getting married anytime soon anyways...

g.i. sienna

Another new magazine for me to read today - the August issue of Nylon. It's not really one of my favorites, cause I find most of it kind of boring since it's more indie. But I just originally suscribed because it was free via Urban Outfitters.

It's Sienna Miller on the cover by the way. There's two covers, and I got the one where she is pouting haha. I though Sienna was a name that most people knew, but apparently not. Both Jeff and my coworker were like, who? Well, she's going to be in the G.I. Joe movie, that's why she's on the cover.

[She's wearing Doc Martens in practically every photo]

Work was annoying today. A shitload of people came in today to register for ESL classes, but only a few can go take the test at a time. Some people kept hovering around the desk, staring at me!! They're so impatient and don't understand that I can't do anything about it. Gah. At least I only have to deal with it every other week, whereas last summer, it was weekly!

we go to tarjay

I love going to Target and wandering around, cause you'll always find something.

Jeff and I went there today after we ate a late lunch (or early dinner) at Bertucci's. There, we found yummy pasta, bad waitstaff, and an old friend.

After reading gossip tabloids and looking at various items, I purchased a new mascara and some foot cushions so I can wear my lovely gladiator wedges without dying.

I really like these two Hollywood Intuition handbags that were a special line by the boutique Intuition. I couldn't decide which one I like better...one is a purple satchel and another is a black tote with a colorful scarf.

We went to the supermarket after to return a DVD to the Redbox. But while we were there, Jeff wanted a drink. He decided to get a bottle of orange soda since it was only 99 cents, and then there was a 50 cents off coupon. When the lady rang it up, it turned out to only be 4 cents since it was something called a "double coupon". Awesome.

[Jeff loves his orange "crush"]

I love that it feels like summer. But I'm sweating like a mad(w0)man!

sand in my pants

I finally got to go to the beach!! It makes it feel like it's actually summer. For at least one day, since the endless rain is going to come back.

When Jeff and I go to the beach, we like to mainly just lay there and tan. Well, he always ask if I want to bring a volleyball or something but I'm lazy. I just like to lie on his stomach and read, haha. I got a bit tanner and kind of sunburned. But it's not that bad. Jeff is really red in the chest area. We didn't notice until we looked in the mirror and started cracking up cause he looked like a lobster!

So after lounging on the beach for like two hours or so, we went to Brown's for some fried seafood. We went there last time too. We had the seafood platter, which is just a bunch of fried clams, scallops, shrimp & fish with french fries and cole slaw.

I really like going to the beach, but it's a real bitch to get up there to Hampton sometimes because of the traffic. I sit there and read/nap/dance to music while Jeff is slowly inching towards our destination. I love you, Jeffrey!

Surprisingly my face is burn-free. It must be my super-shades.

Jeff is gonna make fun of me for that one.

the night of nights

Oh, how I wish I could go. But sadly, I don't live in Japan nor am I planning on traveling there anytime soon.

One day...

even more sweets

Today, I got the July issue of Sweet I had to order from eBay because my regular site couldn't get it for me. It came from Japan so it took like two weeks. Which reminds me that I have to leave the seller some feedback.

This issue had Rinka (big surprise) on the cover, and the furoku was a Kitson pouch. It's like one of those
pouches that you put your toiletries in when you travel. Only this one was probably smaller than usual. But I think it's really cute.

I also got the bathing suit I ordered from Victoria's Secret. But I'll save that for later. Maybe when I finally get to the beach...

biggest editorial ever?

The August issue of Vogue Paris has one of the longest editorials I've ever seen. The 64-page editorial has a bunch of different models in the fall fashions. I selected some of my favorite images:

Phew. That's a lot of images.

sugary sweet

I always get home late-ish because of work. It's really nice if I have something waiting for me. Like yesterday, I got my Sweet magazine, with Namie on the cover! I like the leather vest she's wearing on the cover. It also came with a cute Gelato Pique pouch & hair scrunchie.

I think that's it for today. Boring entry, I know. That's what happens when the weather is rainy.

Oh, and Bloglovin is absolutely genius. I can't believe I never used it before. I've always looked at it and was like, eh. Now I'm addicted!!

carnevale!

The weather was so nice this weekend! Perfect for the beach...unfortunately, I didn't end up going. Maybe when the good weather rolls around again.

On Saturday, we went to the Natick Mall to get our exercise on. Since we're so lazy, we just walk around the mall for exercise. I didn't buy anything other than some Indian food & coffee from McDonald's. But I do wish I bought those sunglasses/glasses at Nordstrom...

I also practiced driving a little with Jeff. We went around the library parking lot a few times before he allowed me to attempt driving home from there. So I got to drive on an actual street! It was kind of nerve-wrecking though - I was going like 10 miles an hour and the car behind me kept honking. But whatever. Apparently I do this swerving thing that gets Jeff really scared. So I didn't drive all the way home.

Yesterday, I went to eat dim sum with Jeff and then we walked around downtown and Boston Common. I was planning on getting my haircut but that didn't end up happening. I'm thinking about going somewhere different now. Hmm.

[Boston Common at its best]

[Drinking DD iced tea in the grass]

Later that night, we stopped by the Italian carnival in Newton. We were interested in the games & rides, so we just bought food and left. We had Italian sausages and fried dough. Yum!

I'm currently at work with a headache. It's probably cause I haven't eaten, with the exception of some gummy bears & a bag of chips I bought. Now I have to sit here for 3 and 1/2 more hours...AHHHHHH.

7.19.2009

another one of those

What is your current obsession?
I love those geeky glasses. I might just have to pick up a pair next time.

What is your horoscope & do you relate to it?

I'm a Capricorn. I think I'm supposed to be practical & serious, but I'm not. However, I am humorous and ambitious.

What are you wearing today?

A pink Gap dress I bought like two years ago that I decided to wear for the first time today, with a brown CK belt. And my Kenneth Cole gladiators of course.

What is the last thing you bought?

Fried dough at the Italian Carnival.

What do you think about the person who tagged you?

No one tagged me. I just love doing these!! But I think the person who I got this from is a very unique individual.

That question about a fully furnished, paid for, that everyone answers with 'Paris' or 'New York':

I always say Boston, since it's my home! But to change it up a bit, I'm gonna say Tokyo. Or somewhere in Japan.

What's for dinner?

I had an Italian sausage at the carnival.

What's your favorite decade, fashion wise?

Um...now?

What are your must haves for summer?

I'm looking for a good floral dress.

What would you love to be able to afford
?
Anything I absolutely wanted.

What is your favorite piece of clothing from your own wardrobe?

Tough question...I don't have a favorite.

What is your dream job?

A magazine editor.

What's your favorite magazine?

VIVI.

What do you consider a fashion faux pas?

Oh the many...

Describe your personal style:

I don't really know. It can be anything, because I just wear what I like.

Which Beatle is your favorite?

I'm not big enough of a Beatle fan to have a favorite.

What are you proud of?

Getting this far in life.

a little bit of girl talk

I need a haircut and to do my nails. My hair is kinda damaged, with a bunch of split ends. And my nail polish is chipping so it's begin to bother me.

[This is a good example of how I want my hair to look. Only with less bangs.]

[Jun Hasegawa inspired by Lady Gaga! Still loving the hair bow.]

[Wondering if this is Marie's new dog. It's so cute!]

[I like these three nail designs]

[I've never seen these glasses before & thought they were funny.]

All the images are from the August issue of ViVi. The magazine just keeps getting better in my opinion. Give Marie more camera time and I'm a reader for life!

[Singing "White Light"]

Oh and I can't wait for Namie's Best Fiction concert DVD to come out.

julia by steven

I just discovered this editorial of Julia Stegner for German Galore. I don't know how old they are, but the best part is that the photographer is her boyfriend, Steven Pan!

She's so beautiful.

yummy in my tummy

Jeff and I decided to start our very own food blog! We always go out to eat at different places so we were like, why not?

It's called "Yummy In My Tummy". We came up with that name as a joke but it stuck.

let's play dress-up

I was so bored at work I decided to play with some online dress-up dolls. It may be a little childish, but it's fun because I got to dress models & celebrities. Haha.

[Jessica Stam]

[Lady Gaga in Tokyo, obviously]

[Raquel Zimmerman]

Please excuse my randomness.
