さようなら、2009!

1. Where were you when 2009 began?
At my friend's house with a couple friends & my boyfriend. We watched the ball drop on TV after going out for dinner and running around Boston Common in the freezing cold & looking at ice sculptures.

2. What did you do in 2009 that you’d never done before?
That's probably going to be an endless list - but an obvious one is going to college, I guess.

3. Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I never make new years' resolutions.

4. Go to any concerts this year?
LADY GAGA!!

5. Will you be looking for a new job in 2010?
I've been planning on finding a job...but I'm just really lazy.

6. Did you drink a lot of alcohol in 2009?
More than I ever have, but not much at all.

7. Did you go on any vacations? If so, where?
I don't think so, sadly.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I don't feel like I've achieved that much. I'm depressing.

9. If you could go back in time to any moment of 2009 and change something, what would it be?
Oh my...

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nothing serious.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Not sure.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Uh...

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
This survey is getting depressing and personal!

14. Where did most of your money go?
Food...

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
I don't remember. Vacation, cause I hate school.

16. What song will always remind you of 2009?
Anything Lady Gaga.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you happier or sadder?
Both, at times.

18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Studied. I'm a bit disappointed in myself.

19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Procrastinating. My biggest flaw.

20. How did you spend Christmas?
Same as always, with the family at home.

22. Did you fall in love in 2009?
I believe that was 2008. Still in love though <3>

23. What was the biggest change for you in 2009?
Adjusting to college life, I guess.

24. What were your favorite TV programmes?
Haha...90210 & Melrose Place.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
I don't hate anyone...

26. What was the best book you read?
Didn't ready many books, to be honest.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
K-POP. Thanks, Jeff!

28. What did you want and get?
Mehhhh.

29. What did you want and not get?
Oh the list is endless...

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
Hmm...there were a few good ones. But I can't choose.

31.What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I celebrated it three times: once with my boyfriend, another with my family, and another with my friends. I turned 18!

32.What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
If I wasn't such a depressing lazy person.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2009?
I guess I became more interested in fashion blogs so that influenced the things I liked. I don't know how to describe it though...

34. What kept you sane?
Knowing that I'll be okay.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
The most? No idea.

36. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
Uh...I'm not a fan of these type of questions.

37. Who did you miss?
My boyfriend when we were apart at college.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
I've met some nice people, but no one I would call the "best".

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2009.
You are responsible for yourself.

40. What are your plans for 2010?
Make it better than 2009, please.

The last post of '09...I did this same survey one year ago too.
Posting this right before I go to bed because I'll be busy all day tomorrow!

tis the gift to be simple

A very short gift update.
Christmas wasn't in full swing this year, mainly cause I wasn't in the mood for the holidays.
So I wasn't expecting much, but I actually got more than I thought I would.
Just a few random, small things I receive
d.

Nothing mind-blowing. (The last photo are my purple contacts btw).
But hey - my birthday is in a week!

merry christmas

I've been such a bad blogger lately, even though I've been on vacation...
Hopefully I'll get back on track soon, but for now I just want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas!

And this photo of Daria was the closest thing I had saved remotely related to Christmas. She's like a present. (Although already partially unwrapped LOL).

sluggish

I didn't realize that I haven't blogged for a couple days.
It actually hasn't been that long, but for me it is!

Been feeling a bit under the weather, and finals are just...gross.
I had one today (yes, on Saturday) and one more on Monday - then I'M DONE!
The worst is yet to come though...

I've been home for the past few days cause I figured I would study more here.
But all I've been doing is pigging out.
So much food...at easy access...gonna gain back the weight I LOST from college hahahaha.

Just a quick update.
Back to watching the NCAA volleyball championship match.

winter blues & yellow fever

Winter blues: A feeling of gloominess during the colder months.
Yellow fever
: Having a preference for females (or males) of Asian descent.

There was the "Yellow Fever" dance at Jeff's school hosted by their Asian club this past Friday, but it wasn't as successful as they'd hoped. Just happened to be the coldest night yet, combined with upcoming finals. Well, I had fun dancing since the music choices were a lot better than other dances. But other than that, the weekend just consisted of wrapping myself in Jeff's massive blanket, eating chili and watching television.
Oh, and studying for my own finals. But barely...

These would make for a great DIY, don't you think?
If only I had that kind of skill.
Well, winter break is coming up soon.
Maybe a project? Haha.

the end of the weekend

Friday.
The morning started out quite shitty cause I woke up late for my Japanese class and missed the quiz I actually studied for. But on the bright side, I finally returned my old key and got the permanent one to my new dorm. Photos soon, perhaps. Visited Clark for the weekend yet again, and Jeff & I stopped by the "Red Light, Green Light" Dance. I always hate the music they play...so we left like 10 minutes in and ended up sitting in the bistro chatting with his friends.

Saturday.
The suite that Jeff lives in had their holiday party this day. Just got ready for it the whole day, I guess. It was a good party (for once!) but then...BUSTED. Yes, for reals this time. Normally, the RA would just give a warning, but the one on duty was a total bitch and came in with two cops & the head housing lady. I dodged getting in trouble (and really, me, in trouble?) but everyone had to leave and they took all the booze. So everyone went their separate ways. Jeff and I went to chill/talk with people, and then spent the rest of the night singing karaoke in his room before passing out.

Sunday.
Jeff drove me back to Boston and we had pho for lunch. It had been a while! I'm like still full from it...haha. Then we quickly stopped by Newbury so he could get a gift for his suite-mate's birthday. Then, back home and watched football & 10,000 B.C. Also stopped by Target and got a caramel brulee latte from Starbucks <3 He finally got to see my new dorm and now I'm left to do homework.

Noooooo. It's the last week of classes.
This semester isn't looking too good for me.

insomnia

I've been overwhelmed and stressed to the max lately.
This song always cheers me up. (Jeff showed it to me, of course. We've been on a Korean music craze recently).
It's actually not super upbeat, but it's no ballad either.
Makes me want to get up & dance.
Feels like insomnia~

counting down the days

It was extremely nice out today, 70 degrees!
Especially since it's been in like the 50s recently.
And it's December now!

One more week of classes.
Two more weeks until finals.
Three weeks until winter break.
I can hardly wait.

um...that's your charlie card

So I went downstairs to Cafe 575 to buy myself some juice cause I was thirsty.
When I went to pay for it, I absentmindedly handed the cashier my bus pass instead of my BU ID card.
It was kind of embarrassing.
I always do that...I tried to tap my debit card instead of my CharlieCard once too.

Explanation for the photo:
I'm currently watching the newest episdoe of 90210 online.
I hate Shenae Grimes's character, but I had this pic saved so whatevs.

elli-rose & gui

Imagine my surprise when I came across The Selby's newest home tour - it's ViVi model Elli-Rose and her boyfriend Gui!
I saw a snippet of it in a ViVi. But I didn't know she lived with her boyfriend.
I love home tours.

black weekend

I'm not one to go all-out for Black Friday. I went shopping in the noontime with Jeff's family, and I bought one of those cute hooded towels:

It's not quite my size, but it was too adorable to resist!

I went to eat Japanese food at Porter Square with Jeff, my sister and one of our good friends. Jeff always makes fun of me for always getting curry hamburg instead of trying something new. It's just so delicious...

Jeff and I visited his family's new restaurant for the first time as well. It was really nice and new, beyond my expectations. We helped package duck sauce and ate a lot of unhealthy Chinese food. I feel very bloated now.

Jeff got this piggy charm for my phone too:

The weekend was just a lot of eating, even more sitting around watching TV, and some shopping.

I'm back at BU now...how unpleasant.

shoes to die for

Christian Louboutin can do no wrong.
Sparkly oxfords & spiky flats?
Total opposites, but I want them both.

clutches by lv

After Jeff's mom went crazy at the Louis Vuitton store yesterday, I couldn't help but to start lusting over a few of their bags. I think that some of their stuff is a little tacky, but a lot of it is actually nice.

I fell in love with two clutches looking back at their Fall/Winter 2009 collection:

I've been on the lookout for a oversize clutch, but I haven't quite found one that matches my style and budget...!

thanksgiving

Hope everybody had a food-filled Thanksgiving!
I know I did!
Lots of stuffing my face and sitting in front of the TV, haha.
But that's what I do regularly anyways...

Tomorrow I am probably going shopping.
But I'm kind of scared...I don't want to get killed.
And I really hate crowds.
I'll just suck it up, I guess?

|Shirls|

P.S. I need to start whipping out my camera again!
