bad endings

It was sweltering hot today. Spent the day at the restaurant, which passed by pretty quickly today since I brought some reading material. My mom handed me this book Shanghai Girls to me the other day, said she heard it was a good book and told me I should read it if I have time. I don't remember when the last time I read a book was (fall, perhaps?) but I decided I shouldn't let my brain rot this summer. 300 pages later, I am disappointed. I don't want this post to turn into a book review so read it for yourself if interested.

Jeffrey and I went to return a movie to RedBox after work and came back with two new movies. We watched It's Complicated while we ate, which I actually enjoyed. But again...ending was disappointing. The other movie we rented was Dear John, but from what I've heard, I think I'll be disappointed again. I think I should wake Jeff up right now and watch it before bed. I think I'll do that.

Desperately want to go to the beach. I really prefer the weekday when it's not stuffed with people, but unfortunately, Jeff only takes Sundays off. I should try to convince him otherwise.

I feel like Sundays are repetitive of one another. It's the one day Jeff doesn't work. We sleep in, and then go shopping in the late afternoon with his mother. Then we all go eat out. I just had a feeling of deja vu because we always seem to stop by an H&M and then eat Shabu Zen. Haha...

The shopping district of choice today was downtown, since I hadn't been there in a while. I ended up getting another dress from the Garden Collection, since it was on sale now. Still wish they had some of the good stuff. I saw the amazing red floral jacket, but sadly, it wasn't my size (and not on sale). We got some DD's and viet subs before deciding to get hot pot. I wasn't really in the mood for it today though.

Relaxed the rest of the night. We rented Armored, which was an okay, cheesy movie.

I'm not dreading Mondays anymore. It's such a great feeling.

one spring day

I finally got the chance to check out Ebisuya Market today. I wasn't disappointed, but I was expecting it to be more exciting. I think I hyped it up too much. It was just a slightly larger version of Kotobukiya. Their magazine section was lacking though, which was the only thing I really looked forward to. Oh well; we didn't leave empty handed though. Jeff and I got some rice balls, drinks and some mayo to try. (And we also got some cannolis from Modern Pastry nearby).

Well, today was also my grandmother's 65th birthday! I decided to get her flowers of course, so Jeff and I picked up a pot of orchids. I think she liked them. Haha.

The weather is finally started to feel like summer. I really hope it stays this way.

I realize I should start waking up earlier as well. I used to wake up early all the time because I really hate the feeling of a wasted day. Shortly after getting out of bed today, Jeffrey and I went to H-Mart to grab a late lunch at the food court. I really don't know what the name of the dishes we got were called, but I took some pictures, of course:

We took a quick stroll around the market because we had to make it to the restaurant soon, but we did buy a jar of kimchee and a can of Calpico :) And coffee from Tous Les Jours too.

Not much else to say.
But tomorrow is another day!

no sleep tonight

Been having trouble sleeping lately. Maybe I'm not used to my bed at home anymore. I think it might be cause I'm not used to sleeping alone either nowadays...

Jeffrey woke me up too early to get breakfast at Tresca's. Said he would call me back in an hour or so, but I guess his tummy couldn't wait that long. I got my usual there - a combo of scrambled eggs, toast, home fries, and my favorite corned beef hash. Oh, and a cup of coffee. Strolled around 24 hour CVS in the whee hours after. No new magazines there for me, but Jeff picked up an issue of Maxim so we could see the the Hot 100 for 2010. Katy Perry is definitely not number one.

Went back to bed for a little before getting up again to go work at the restaurant. Tuesdays are sort of slow - but I don't really mind too much. Time flew by fast enough. After, we decided to stop by the mall real quick before closing. I managed to snag a (faux) fur vest before we grabbed a bite to eat at Chick-Fil-A. I love chicken sandwiches. Theirs is the best ever. And amazing service too :)

Here I am now, rambling about my day at 3 am. I can't sleep and have nothing else better to do at this time of night.

Julia Stegner in Tush June 2010. I wish her editorial was longer, but there is an article. However, I can't read German. Maybe someone will translate it on tFS.

Such quirky shades! Probably not the first pair I would ever pick up, but they look great on her. They are by Spitfire, from Asos (click here for the link), but sadly, they don't ship this pair to the US.

woah weekend

Now that summer vacation is here, everyday is the weekend. Well, sort of. I'm going to be helping out more at my boyf's family restaurant though, I think. It's not bad. I get to eat whatever I want (win), but sometimes customers can be particularly annoying (like leery drunk old guys and annoying gangsters that try to hit on you). I just try not to make eye contact to much. Haha.

Today, we met up with his two friends and got frappes at Starbucks (last day of Happy Hour!), and then wandered the mall for a bit. Then we hung out, watching tv and eating wings. I feel like the day went by pretty fast. Cause before you know it, we're out the door and off to the Jordan's Furniture IMAX theater to see Iron Man 2. It was alright. I don't have much else to say about it.

As of now, I don't have much planned for the summer. I hate when people ask me that question. I don't have anything fun to say. My response is usually, "I don't know yet" or "Not much". Hopefully that changes?

I have a love-hate relationship with AA. Sometimes they are genius; sometimes they are ridiculous. But I still have a gift card so some things I wouldn't mind adding to my closet:

Cotton Ottoman Rib Jacket, Natural Denim Gym Bag, Satin Charmeuse Roller Shorts, Mineral Wash Natural Denim Runner Shorts.

Rosette Hello Kitty Apple Gommage I thought this was a cleanser when I bought it cause I had no idea what a gommage was. But I figured it out with the help of the internet. I don't really know how well it works but I do love the apple scent and Hello Kitty packaging (of course!).

Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner
I LOVE this eyeliner. I haven't tried too many liquid liners, but now that I discovered this, I will probably never buy another kind ever again. I really hope it doesn't run out quickly and that they don't discontinue it.

Nicole by OPI in Spring Romance There was a red heart version of this for sale a while ago that I never got. Spotted this cute pink one in the aisles of Target and into the basket it went! It's kind of hard to apply but I still love it, nonetheless.

Gelato Pique Spring/Summer 2010 Mook I have a small obsession with "roomwear" and I really wanted the cute travel case that this mook came with so...here it is! I have a bajillion travel cases things now haha.

ViVi & PopSister June 2010 Self-explanatory~

basking in the sun

Summer is (pretty much) here!
I just wanna lounge around & tan.
Once the weather is stable.

home again

I'm finally all moved out of my dorm and back at home! Took about three trips to get everything back. And now it's all scattered all over my room. I feel like there's a lot more stuff than before...must be all the shopping, haha. I really don't want to look at it right now, so I'm gonna clean & organize everything tomorrow. (But my laundry is already done, thanks Dad!).

Right now, I'm just gonna relax and have a quiet evening with my blogs :)

one of those days

Long rant of a bad day.
Feel free to skip.

It started with last night when I was studying for my final. Of course, it's completely normal for me to feel discouraged while studying. But when I was confident that I knew enough, I put my notes away and went to bed. But I couldn't fall asleep. I don't know if it was because I had been sleeping much later the last couple weeks, or if because I was nervous. (Or cause my roommate snores like a truck driver...) I tossed and turned for nearly three hours before getting a minimal amount of shut-eye.

Then this morning I was rudely interrupted by the roommate's alarm. Not only was it blaring loud, but she did not wake up. So the annoying sound was repeating over and over again for what seemed like eternity, ruining my last chance of sleeping soundly. I got up and got ready and it seemed like my day was brightening up when I went to get my morning caffeine. It 's really nice out and I hadn't been up this early in forever.

I got to my classroom and found a seat, prepared to tackle this final.
Let's just say it was the ultimate fail.

Now I'm at the library printing out papers that are due (which are also craptastic). I'm completely finished with this semester, and I'm ecstatic. But it also really sucks. Sorry if it seems like I'm complaining over nothing. Trust me though, it's worse than it sounds.

Oh, and I'm breaking out due to all this stress.
Everyone have an awesome Thursday to make up for mine.

h&m summer

H&M's Ultimate Summer Collection, in stores today!
I am loving some of these pieces - but boyfriend put me on a shopping ban because we've been going too much for the last couple months :(

Oh, and I'm very happy that Julia is in this campaign <3

So close, yet so far away...that's what I feel right about now.
My first and only final is tomorrow morning! Once that's over, I can breathe in summer.
But for now, I'm stressing.

Wish me luck, cause science is not my strong point at all.

met gala 2010

My favorites from the Metropolitan Costume Institute Gala 2010.
Rosie Huntington Whiteley & Emma Watson in Burberry, Liu Wen in Naeem Khan, and Constance Jablonski
& Camilla Belle in Jason Wu.

It was blazing hot today. Not that I spent any time outdoors...haha. Felt like summer, which is super exciting, since it will be summer vacation for me in a week's time!!

I find it ironic that during the weekend that the weather was sooo nice that the water pipe in Boston decides to burst (technically, in Weston). I haven't seen any effects of it so far but you never know. So if live around Boston, don't drink the tap water. Boil, boil, boil!

I feel kind of uninspired lately. I don't know why.
