it's on

I'm afraid I've given into the Alexa Chung hype. I went through her thread on tFS, followed her on Twitter, and watched clips of her new MTV talk show online. I should try catching the whole show on television sometime, but it's at noon. Such a random time to me. I love her British accent and she's very funny.

I love getting things in the mail, especially packages. And when it's something I've ordered online, even better! Currently, I'm waiting for three Japanese magazines I've ordered. I'm still sad that Kotobukiya closed, but at least I can still find them somewhere.

I'm currently waiting for Jeff to get out of work. We're going to go see Bruno, and maybe another movie. The weekend's here!

for the love of julia

Every once in a while, I go through Julia Stegner's thread on tFS and find some new pictures of her. She's so stunning, I have to share:

She's so perfect.

this is the summertime?

Ever since I started working this week, I haven't really had time to do much else. Jeff and I still hang out in the mornings, but there isn't much time to go out and find adventures like we did before we both started working.

I love that photo, as it pretty much evokes what I'd like to be doing at this very moment. If it was much warmer, that is. It's still cool enough here that I wear layers. Going to the beach would be nice. I would love to swim in the water and play volleyball in that warm sand. But sadly I am sitting behind a desk.

Tomorrow should consist of actual events though, since I don't work on Fridays! And Jeff won't be working long or late. So expect a good update!

And the two of us might also start a blog - watch for it.

little red mermaid dress

Now that I'm working, I'm going to start having a lot of blog posts that don't have anything to do with my personal life. There is going to be more posts of topics I'm interested in.

[Original sketch]

Today, I decided to blog about this one particular dress by Atelier Versace Spring 2009 Collection. The scaly texture made me think of a mermaid. But it's red, as opposed to a sea-foam green. It's a strange choice, but it works on these models & celebrities:

[Emma Roberts at the Costume Institute Gala]

[Rosie Huntington-Whitely in NY Mag]

[Heidi Klum also seen in the dress]

Who do you think looks best?

first day of work

I started my first day of work yesterday. It's not really the first day ever, since this is the third summer I've worked here at BCNC. But the first of 2009, you see. My job is the receptionist, so I sit at the front desk and answer phones, help people that come in, and surf the web. And occasionally I have to do tedious office work like stuffing envelopes or typing up things.

For the most part, it's pretty easy until someone obnoxious comes in or calls. Yesterday was probably one of the easiest days I've had in a while. Today hasn't been too bad. But more annoying than yesterday. I think I'm starting to confuse myself.

During work yesterday, Jeff brought me dinner (salty spicy squid!) and a avocado shake with pearls. He stayed with me until closing time at 9 and then we went to the park to light fireworks! It was kind of scary cause it was loud, but it was pretty. I hope we didn't bother anyone...

I guess it's nice that I have the computer here. But 6 straight hours of sitting here - it'll get boring after a while. At least I'll probably blog a lot more!!
