that's where i wanna be
It's back on tonight! Finally, a new episode of 90210. I can't wait for Silver to become a psycho stalker.
Yeah so if I want to watch it at nine, I should finish [most of] my homework.
Toodles!

to buy
I've had my eyes on these items for a long time...but I'm trying not to spend money on things I don't need.
American Apparel Cotton Spandex Jersey Bandeau Dress in Coral
I'm really liking all shades of orange & coral, and you can wear this in so many ways.
Deux Lux Zipper Seamed Satchel in Ivory
I went to find this at Urban Outfitters weeks ago, but they didn't have it in this color!
Silence & Noise Ripped Twig Jeans
I just really like these jeans; I don't have anything like them.
Oh and I still want those Free People shoes. But I'm eyeing these ones as well:
Ecote Pyramid Gladiator in Black
I think they'll look better in person.

anything goes
On Friday night, I went to see my high school production of "Anything Goes" with my boyfriend and family. My younger sister was in it, as well as many of my friends. I was never interested in the drama department though. It wasn't that bad, but kind of boring.
I won a gift basket from my school's Diversity Week! It was a raffle for answering the question "Name 10 countries that have four-letter names." I would love to say I won it fairly, but my sister and her friend rigged it so I would win. I love them, haha.
[School supplies, snacks, and a Target gift card]
Like I said I would, I went to buy that Calpico mango drink. But they didn't have Hello Kitty on the label anymore. My boyfriend got the strawberry one and I tried that one too. I should try the original one like Carol suggested. But yes, I got my issue of ViVi from Kotobukiya as well.
[I had to take a picture before he drank it]
Then my boyfriend gave me a short driving lesson like he promised. I'm not very good, but I didn't hit anything in that huge parking lot. Practice makes perfect?
I went to the Natick mall afterward with him and my sister and mom. I looked at prom dresses for a little, and I found one I really liked. But they didn't have it in my size...the only time in my life I'll probably wish I was a bigger size. I'm going to try finding it in another store though.
[It looked way prettier in person]
I also had pho that night. I hadn't had it in a while, so it was delicious.
[I want some now]
Today, Sunday, was my friend's birthday party. I was there for a bit, just hanging out and such. It wasn't too much fun though cause I feel left out sometimes...cause I'm not part of the whole drama department. Eh well.
I'm hungry again now. I ate a lot at the party, but now it's starting to digest.

And this ice cream is shaped like one. Isn't that so awesomely creative? I wonder how they do it...

It'll be okay.
The day feels incomplete when I don't blog.
But yes, I'm not in the greatest of moods. I finally heard back from one of my top choices for colleges, Boston College. And I got wait-listed!! I guess it's better than being rejected, but still nevertheless, disappointing. It peeves me a bit to hear about fellow classmates getting accepted too.
There's much I need to do now. I am no mood for it at all. I just want to graduate.
Now I have a headache!!!

EDIT: I got into Bryn Mawr! They sent me a cute little video. It made me smile :]

failure
When I say that, I'm not even remotely kidding. People (myself included), always go "I FAILED THAT TEST!", but we know we really didn't. It's more like the C range. But this time, I'm pretty sure I got a F. A legit ZERO.
How is that possible, you might ask? On a regular test, you might get some partial credit or what not, but my student teacher is just so - bizarre. And a horrible teacher, I add, for the millionth time. She has this thing where each question has a base number of points it's worth. Then there are extra points that we "bet" on each question. Stupidly, I bet all my points on the matching I was POSITIVE was correct. Then I ask people that actually know what they're doing in my pre-cal class what they did. And our answers did not match. So sadly, I wasted my points on that and totally bullshitted all the other problems. I don't know how to graph sine and cosine, so shoot me.
Enough complaining. I know nobody really cares about my schoolwork.
What do I have to look forward to?
THE TRIP TO NYC!!! Yes, I am so excited. Even though it's a school trip for the music students to participate in a music festival, I am glad to go anywhere. Too bad there won't be much shopping. Probably a bit of sight-seeing though. Either way, I am stoked.
[NYC trip of 2007; my lovely roomies]
I'll leave this entry at that. I have been blogging more than usual. It's the senioritis. Maybe there'll be another entry later tonight...

Completely random post. I'm thirsty and these Hello Kitty drinks look especially yummy right now. I've never had one of them, but I think I should try it when I go to Kotobukiya this weekend.
I want the mango one.

much ado about nothing
I don't have much to blog about, so I decided to post some snapshots of editorials and such from my March magazines. Yes, I'm that bored. I was too lazy to scan them instead though.
[Cosmo]
[Catherine McNeil in Harper's Bazaar]
[Kristen Stewart in Nylon]
[Doutzen Kroes in Allure]
[Rinka in Sweet]
[Sweet; I forgot her name]
[Hinano Yoshikawa in Sweet]
[Kiko in ViVi]
[Lena in ViVi; for you Jeffrey]
You know what is aggravating? There is a dress I like I saw in one of my magazines, but I have yet to see in any store or online yet. And it's been like, a month.

nobody hugs a rose
Before I even begin this post, I would just like people to know I'm not depressed or anything.
I've just been feeling lonely lately, and sometimes these lyrics describe it pretty well. But the context of the song is inaccurate.
She's all alone 'cause nobody hugs rose.
There's never been a prettier soul,
No, there's never been a lovelier rose.
But she can never wipe away all her tears.
She cries herself to sleep and
wakes up to the same old fears.
Moving on.
The days have been longer, so that makes me happy. Maybe when it's actually warm outside, I will get out there. But for now, I'm perfectly happy staying inside reading my favorite blogs.
I found another pair of shoes I really like. But sadly, they are not for sale anymore. However, I did find a pair of them for sale on eBay. Sadly again, I cannot afford to buy them at the moment.
I need to job hunt if my old summer employer doesn't hire again.

the weekend & photos
I look forward to the weekend so much, but nothing really interesting happens. At least I get to relax.
My cousin from LA visited so we had dinner at my grandmother's. The balcony view from my other grandparents' apartment in Boston.
Visited my great-grandmother's grave today. It's was a nice day out, but a bit windy. Cemeteries in the daytime aren't creepy at all. They're actually kind of peaceful.
It's officially spring now, but it isn't significantly warmer. I want to be able to wear a tee without feeling chilly. That's kind of hard for me though, cause I get cold anyways.
I confess, I'm obsessed with Jessica Michibata right now. I want her photobook, now. I wish that were me lounging in the sun right about now!!
The countdown to graduation begins soon.

tag, you're it
I got this from one of the blogs I read: click me.
The rules are: (1) Answer the questions on your blog, replace one question that you dislike with a question of your own invention, add one more question of your own. (2) Tag other un-tagged people.
I don't tag people, so consider yourself tagged if you read this!
Whats your current obsession?
Those Free People sandals I posted a while ago, that I have yet to purchase. They're out of stock right now, so I have to wait until April 13 for them to restock!! And they didn't have them in the store.
What are you wearing today?
White shirt and skinny jeans.
Why is today so special?
I visited my great-grandmother's grave. We do it every year.
What would you like to learn to do?
Drive, but no one has time to teach me! Might as well take a class.
What did you have for dinner?
Rice, veggies, pork, and fish.
What's the last thing you bought?
I paid for my senior sweatshirt, but I don't have it yet.
What are you listening to right now?
BoA's new album, repeatedly. Currently on "Did Ya".
What is your favorite weather?
Sunny and warm.
What is on your bedside table?
I don't have a bedside table.
Whats your style?
I can't define it.
What was your favorite Fall RTW show?
I haven't been keeping up with them, but I did like Balmain, Alexander Wang, DSquared2, and Versace.
What is your most challenging goal right now?
Finishing up senior year without being a total lazy ass.
What is your Starbucks drink of choice?
Caramel frappucino, yummy.
If you could have a house totally paid for, fully furnished anywhere in the world, where would you like it to be?
Hard one, but I'd probably pick right here in Boston.
Favorite vacation spot?
Of places I've already been...China, the cities of course.
Name the things you cannot live without.
Food, the computer, and love.
What would you like to get rid of?
Evil?
If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would you go?
Somewhere warm and tropical. Hawaii sounds good.
Which language do you want to learn?
Japanese, so I can read all those magazines I buy.
What countries have you visited?
Other than the US, only Canada and China.
What are some of the things you like about where you live?
It's small but close to the city.
What is your favorite quality about yourself?
Um...
Say one random fact about yourself.
I really like hippopotamuses.
What people, dead or alive, would you invite to a dinner party, and why?
Namie Amuro, BoA, Julia Stegner, all the ViVi models, Okada Junichi, and more I can't think of at the moment. Because I would just love to meet them.
What are you looking forward to the most?
Graduating high school and the summer!!!

the wait
How come the warm weather never lasts? It's chilly and raining again...
It's disappointing to walk home and find that the mailbox does not contain acceptance (or rejection!) letters. The wait is horrible, because I just want to know NOW where I'm going. I'll be able to find out about at least one college tomorrow online.
Well, today, nothing in the mailbox from any colleges, but I did get two magazines. So that made me happy.
[Don't mind the flash...]
I feel all achy. Doesn't that happen to old people when it rains?

BoA: the first album
I was introduced to BoA probably only about a year ago. But now she's one of my favorite singers (aside from Namie, of course).
She just debuted an album in the US, which is very exciting. I've been listening to it nonstop. Since it's in English, I can actually understand it! A lot of the songs sound similar though. I really like "I Did It For Love."
Forever 21 has been promoting her album, and she's going to be at an in-store signing THIS SUNDAY!!! Too bad it's in Pasadena, California. If you live anywhere near there, take advantage of this opportunity. I'm jealous of you.

Yes, I got into another college!!
This time, I've been accepted into the Class of 2013 for the University of Massachusetts Amherst, as a Communications major.
Another weight off my chest. Well, kind of. I now got into both of my safeties.
The serious stuff is going to come soon...
My heart is beating so fast!

pot of gold
Happy St. Patrick's Day!! I'm not Irish, but that's okay. I realized this after I changed this morning, but was too lazy to put anything green on. So at school I felt a bit out of place in my red hoodie.
The sun is out today; I love it. And I'm feel much better than yesterday, when I had a runny nose and a headache. I should be out there doing something, but I'm much too lazy. There's homework and studying to be done anyways.
There is approximately 10 weeks of school left. That seems like such a long time...
I wish it was the end of May. Then I could be done with schoolwork and AP testing, and enjoy awards night, prom, graduation, and summer!!!
[I don't have a oddly shaped tummy, it's my passport pouch!]
I desperately want to travel this summer. I decided to add a photo of my older sister and me in China last April. I miss seeing new sights. But my plans are undecided, as is my future.
I check the mailbox everyday in hopes of finding something...no news yet.

spring is coming
A much needed personal update - my weekend was pretty relaxing. I didn't do that much, other than eat a lot!!
On Friday, my mom, Jeff, and I ate dinner at Minado. Too much food, I couldn't even move after!! I never eat my money's worth at buffets, but that's okay.
[I want a kimono/yukata]
Yesterday, Saturday, I was at home a lot. My mom made me clean pretty much the entire house. That didn't leave too much time for fun. But Jeff came over, and then my sisters' friends also did for dinner. After dinner we were still craving food, so we stopped by the mall, KFC, and the supermarket. So unhealthy! We went back to my house to re-watch a Chinese movie.
Today was such a nice day!! It seems like spring is finally coming. I attempted to do my homework, but I only got some of it done. It's a combination of senioritis/spring fever/laziness. Afterwards, Jeff and my younger sister went to her favorite store for all things cute, Chinatown, and Porter Sq. I bought a Sweet to read, and Jeff got some takoyaki.
[Rinka & some funny socks]
Oh right! Here's a college update: I got wait-listed at Brandeis. But I was just kind of whatever about it because I didn't want to really go there. I only applied because my mom wanted me to. Being wait-listed is better than full-on rejection though.
I'm so nervous now! The letters should be rolling in very soon...
Another week of school begins tomorrow.

show me the money
Everything these days seem to revolve around finances.
We got our scholarship booklets today in school. So I'm going to have to fill out applications for like 20 scholarships, even though I'm only going to get like, two. Might as well try, like my mom says.
I'm still behind on financial aid stuff. I have send all those tax returns to the colleges. I actually went to buy those big manila envelopes today so I could send them ASAP.
And I finally decided to put all the quarters I've been saving for a couple years into a bigger piggy bank. Or in my case, a kitty bank...I can't wait until I cash it all in, there's serious money to be made!
[It fits twice as much]
Checklist for things I need to pay for:
I want a cupcake.

tiring tuesday
I just got back from Bandarama, an annual musical performance that includes music students from all the schools in the district. Little kids and big kids, haha. Yes, I am a dork and I play the violin. I used to play the flute too, but I quit. Thank goodness it wasn't too long, because it used to drag on forever.
[Bandarama 2008]
But anyways, I'm pretty exhausted for some reason. I think I need more sleep. I have two quizzes to study for tonight though. Not very exciting.
You know what is exciting though? Our school's boy basketball team made it to the state finals!! I'm not that big on school sports, but I do have some school pride.
Somehow that reminded me that I have to wear red and black tomorrow for our class picture. Then I also have to pay for the millions of senior activities...well, my mom has to.
I guess I'll go study now. Boo.

Boo.

i'm a barbie girl
I'm actually not. But - Barbie is 50 years old today...and she doesn't look a day over 18.
[The original Barbie; The 50th Anniversary Barbie]
I only knew this because she kept showing up in my magazines - it's fascinating how popular this disproportionate doll is.

[Barbie through the ages; Allure February 2009]
For the big 5-0, there are several stores that are selling limited-edition Barbie merchandise. Bloomingdale's and Fred Segal has apparel and accessories, and Stila teamed up with Barbie to make a special set of makeup.

So, Happy Birthday Barbie. Maybe you'll actually look 50 when you turn 100. But I doubt it.
